CONCEPT

Our team brainstormed several ideas that can work with circuits and switches.

I tried to think of the human senses that could meaningfully relate to switches and lighting. That's when I came up with the concept of a "green light," a popular idiom among Koreans used to describe the state when two people have a good (romantic) feeling towards each other. So, I thought of depicting the situation of "love at first sight" when people make eye contact by using an LED light.

WORKING MODEL & SCHEMATIC

Our basic working model featured a lego (or a doll) placed on rotating platforms. The LED would only light up when they faced each other and made eye contact. Our schematic mirrored what we learned in our first class: a battery connected to a resistor, a switch, and an LED. However, we wanted to ensure that the circuit was concealed beneath the box so that viewers could only see the rotating lego (although we later changed it to a wooden doll) and the lighting.
